at Machu Picchu in Peru

Summit of 13,828 ft on the Inca Trail at Dead Woman's Pass in July 2022

I hiked the Inca Trail in July 2022, a four-day journey through the Andes on stone paths laid by the Incan civilization. The highest point comes on the second day, followed by a beautiful descent into the valley. The trek concludes at Machu Picchu, with a picturesque train ride back to Cusco. It was the most historically enriching hike I’ve ever done, though the rocky terrain of the Inca Trail can be tough on the soles of your feet.
